Mošćenička Draga is the pearl of the Opatija Riviera
Mošćenička Draga is a small picturesque Mediterranean village which lies on the eastern coast of Istria in the Quarner Bay at the foot of the Mountain of Učka, and it is near to the other larger costal towns of Lovran and Opatija.
Mošćenička Draga was founded in the nineteenth century as a fisherman’s harbour when it served the medieval town of Mošćenice, which today is a historical and magical place with many narrow streets, steps and vaults.
A holiday in Mošćenička Draga is a relaxing and enjoyable experience: the clean pebble beaches, the lush green vegetation, the unforgettable clear blue sea, the tasty culinary specialities, and much more.
Wake-up to the call of hungry seagulls calling as they circle fisherman-boats, watch the sunrise as if a ball of flame breaks away from the sea, spend a day swimming, try the fish dishes and wine in a local restaurant and, when night falls, listen to the waves as they endlessly cross the pebbles, and in the background – crickets chirping: a summer symphony to be remembered.
There is plenty of recreation and sport, too.
Scuba diving: discover a fascinating underwater world or simply walking: follow the historical and mythological paths along the slopes of Mountain Učka and see the fresh water springs of Trebišća and Potoki and learn about the ancient Slavic god Perun.
Mošćenička Draga has been called the pearl of the Opatija Riviera. This seaside village is a place that will make you happy. It is a place you will wish to return to for a holiday time and time again.
